Your first visit.
The American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry and the American Dental Association recommend that children have their first dental visit by age one. It's our mission to make your child's first visit to the dentist enjoyable, positive, and educational.
The purpose of this first visit is to provide you and your family with the knowledge and skills to care for your child's teeth now and in the future, as well as to establish a dental home for your child. We will review brushing and flossing, then clean your child's teeth. Depending on your child's risk for developing cavities, x- rays may or may not be taken. We will also provide a nutritional consultation and preventative program for your child. We will then discuss our findings and recommend treatment options.
Here are some tips to help make your child's first visit an enjoyable experience:
• Tell your child in advance that they will be meeting nice grownups that will count and brush their teeth.
• Convey good feelings about going to the dentist with your child.
